- Also: Milam, Jordan -- Below Revolutionary War Pension Application #W25707 mentions Milan family in 1850 Carroll County, Arkansas census. Sandwiched between Milam families #679, and #781 is: "Family #680: Burris Milam 28 Tenn.; Roda J. 25 Tenn.; Elizabeth 5 Ark; James B. 4/12 Ark.; William R. Shelton 15 Mo. No doubt folks have seen this before; but I mention it because it gives more background on Milam. Jordan was in David Lanier's Company for one and fought in the Battle of Camden SC. In his second tour he was mustered into service at "Old Pittsylvania Court House". Pistole, Charles -- Revolutionary War Pension Application #W26894 dated 12 Sep 182, Maury Co, TN. Here's a quote: Charles Pistole enlisted in January 1781 in Captain William Dick's Company of Virginia Volunteers, 'to prevent the British from crossing the Dan River into Virginia.' He served at the Battle of Guliford Court House. After the battle, he was with Captain Morton, who escourted the prisoners from Guliford to Manchester Barracks. Charles Pistole served under command of Captain Christopher Shelton and Captain Lavender Shelton in General Green's Regiment of Virginia state Troops at the siege of Ninety-Six."
