MOORE, James: Lead about 300 Cherokee against the Tuscarora 1711-1713.
MORMON is a nickname often used when referencing members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or LDS). Perhaps Mormons are best known for their belief that the Book of Mormon is a translation of records kept anciently by inhabitants of the prehistoric Americas. The name "Mormon" actually is the name of a prophet who lived in the Americas anciently. He is a major author and compiler of the Book of Mormon.
