Introduction: Margaret EDMUNDSTON is mother-in-law to Stephen SHELTON who married Margaret BONNER. This Stephen is the son of Stephen SHELTON & Abigail HARRIS.
Margaret was born 1 May 1831 at Whitburn, Linlithgow, Scotland. She is the daughter of Thomas EDMUNDSTON and Christina SUTHERLAND. She married George BONNER on 22 Oct 1849 at Whitburn. George & Margaret attended the LDS church at Croftshead & were baptized. On 23 Mar 1856 George came to America and worked until he could send for his family. Margaret left on 8 Nov 1856 to join George in America. She sailed for ten long weeks during stormy winter months with three small children, George, Christina & William. Margaret had two more children, Margaret & Ann. Eventually the family, came to Utah in 1861. Margeret had three more children. Even through many trials the family stayed strong. Margaret lost her eyesight and was blind for many years. She never complained & always seemed to be happy & kind. George died 5 May 1905 at Midway, Utah. Margaret died 23 Dec 1920 also at Midway. George & Margaret had the following children: George III, Christina, William, Margaret, Ann, Dessie, Thomas, Mary Jane & Robert James. (HOWB; p640-641)
