Introduction: George BONNER Jr. is father-in-law to Stephen SHELTON who married Margaret BONNER. This Stephen is the son of Stephen SHELTON & Abigail HARRIS.
George BONNER Jr. is the son of George BONNER, Sr. and Ann TRAVERS. He was born 8 Jan 1822 at Kiliver, Monaghan, Ireland. George left Ireland when he was 14 and went to Scotland. He married Margaret EDMUNDSTON on 22 Oct 1849 at Whitburn, Linlithgow, Scotland. George & Margaret attended the LDS church at Croftshead & were baptized. On 23 Mar 1856 George came to America and worked in the Pennsylvania coal mines until he could send for his family. Eventually they all reached Utah in 1861. George died 5 May 1905 at Midway, Utah. George & Margaret had the following children: George III, Christina, William, Margaret, Ann, Dessie, Thomas, Mary Jane & Robert James.(HOWB; p640-641)
