Introduction:  Stephen SHELTON & Abigail HARRIS' son, Stephen, married Margaret BONNER. Margaret's sister, Dessie, married Alvah ALEXANDER, son of Alvah. Margaret BONNER's brother, George BONNER III, married Phebie ALEXANDER, daughter of Alvah J. ALEXANDER and Elizabeth SOULE.

A. J. Alexander

Alvah Jedathan ALEXANDER is the son of Alvah ALEXANDER & Phoebe HOUSTON. Alvah was born 21 Sep 1831 at Northfield, Vermont. After converting to the LDS religion, Alvah moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, until 1846. His family was close to Joseph SMITH's family; their children played together. Alvah was 13 years old when the prophet, Joseph, was killed. He went with his father to meet Joseph's body from Carthage. Alvah came to Utah in October 1852 with his parents. They were with Captain Harmon CUTLER's company. Alvah married Elizabeth SOULE 13 Mar 1854. In 1870 their family moved to Midway, Utah. Alvah Jedathan ALEXANDER died on 6 Feb 1917 in Midway. Alvah & Elizabeth had the following children: Mary Elizabeth, Phebe, Alvah, Adelbert, Ella Gertrude, Frederic Soule, Ada DeAna, Charles Edwin, Henry LeRoi, Florence Mina & Effie Mae.(HOWB,p698)
